THE CWA TOOL

The Cognitive Work Analysis tool is my latest development for the HFI-DTC. Building on the experience from the HTA and other Cranfield University applications, THE CWA TOOL is highly visual and interactive, and is entirely unique as a software tool in support of an emerging analysis technique.

THE CWA TOOL was developed using VB.Net in Visual Studio 2003 and the version available is a beta prototype and is not an official release

THE HTA TOOL

The Hierarchical Task Analysis tool is my first and most successful (to date) development for the HFI-DTC. THE HTA TOOL fully supports the well-known HTA analysis technique in an easy to use, WYSIWIG format and has a number of features to help the analyst including wizards, automatic numbering, multiple views, plans and extension modules.

THE HTA TOOL was developed using VB.Net in Visual Studio 2003 and the version available is a trial copy but is freeware. It has been used by world-famous organisations around the globe, from Brazil, to the US, Europe, and Australia.

CC Toolset

The Cranfield Cognitive Toolset is a collection of four handy (if very basic!) analysis and questionnaire tools. Apart from the KSA tool which is specialised the others could be used (and have been) in a range of situations.

The CCToolset was developed using VB.Net in Visual Studio 2003. You are welcome to use the version provided, please contact myself or Cranfield University if you require a specialised or more professional version of any of the tools.

THE KSA TOOL

The Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes tool was the second tool developed for the HFI-DTC, as a follow on analysis technique from THE HTA TOOL. The technique is far more specialised and there are many methods associated with KSA so the tool attempts to be as flexible as possible. There are also a number of sub-tools provided with it for knowledge elicitation.

THE KSA TOOL was developed using VB.net in Visual Studio 2003 and it shares a number of libraries (DLLs) with THE HTA TOOL. It is recommended that the available version is used in conjunction with THE HTA TOOL.

Super Ferrets

I created Super Ferrets when I was younger by modifying the original Nibbles game shipped with Quick Basic. There are a number of variations, including an editor for creating your own levels and my own favourite, the Deathmatch! The code has also been modified to make the games playable on modern (rather faster) PCs, and for up to 4 players!

The coding was all done in Quick Basic. All levels and source code are available on the website (which is very basic HTML).
